Chapter No.1

ARCHITECTURE
by Redgen Mathieson

Redgen Mathieson architects have designed Cirrus to be a hallmark of
understated and timeless design. The residential landscape in Canberra is
fertile ground for innovation. It is here that we invite prospective residents
to create a new home to meet the various demands of modern living.

PROJECT VISION

Architectural Vision, Redgen Mathieson

Cirrus stands to champion one vital truth – to be ambitiously simple in every
aspect. Conceived by Per Se Developments and Redgen Mathieson architects,
the two waterfront towers embody a shared philosophy and commitment
to honest, purposeful and timeless design. Cirrus marks a new chapter for
elevated design in Belconnen and is an architectural translation of modernist
principles in their most pure form.

THE BUILDING

“WE VALUE classic IDEAS OF SPACE AND PROPORTION. HOW THE LIGHT FALLS ON A SURFACE AND HOW PEOPLE interact WITH WHAT’S AROUND THEM. THE simplest SOLUTION IS OFTEN THE BEST ONE.”

Phillip Mathieson, Architect, Redgen Mathieson

Cirrus is comprised of two waterfront towers that stand proud as Belconnen’s
only residence where every apartment orients north to command sweeping
views of Lake Ginninderra. At 24 storeys, Cirrus is one of the tallest buildings
in Belconnen, composed of an arresting verticality that is offset by an elegant
shell of precast concrete panels with a subtle, velvety finish.

INTERIORS

The interior spaces have been designed with respect to form and function.
Each residence is considered to invite natural light and to encourage a
communal living space. Not only does Cirrus aspire to integrate with the
natural environment, but it also aims to provide a free-flowing suite of
private rooms for residents to enjoy.

SEAMLESS SPACES

Cirrus is unique in that all residences have been designed to face north,
offering breathtaking views of Lake Ginninderra and its lush surroundings.
With the intention of creating seamless space, a generous balcony
integrates with the main living area, where a choice of two neutral colour
palettes harmonise with the abundant natural light.

Open, airy kitchens include island bench tops wrapped in crisp white surfaces
with timber grained joinery, undermount sinks and stainless steel European
appliances. In certain apartments, the sensory experience of this communal
space is enhanced by windows that are cantilevered over the side of the
building, permitting residents to enjoy even wider cityscape views from the
signature corner of the apartment.

“THESE SPACES OFFER generous CITYSCAPE VIEWS, MEANWHILE REMAINING A CENTRAL POINT OF communion FOR EACH PRIVATE RESIDENCE.”

Phillip Mathieson, Architect, Redgen Mathieson

PENTHOUSES

Penthouse apartments ensure an exclusive theatre of experience for
Cirrus residents. Floors across living, dining and bathroom spaces have
been designed to allow a seamless integration of interiors that lead out to
the capacious balcony. In these communal family spaces, an interface of
floor-to-ceiling windows has been included to promote the breadth of sunlight.

A MODERN PAVILION

The penthouse terrace apartments are the centrepiece of the Cirrus apex.
The extensive pavilion terrace wraps around two sides of the residence and
includes a large undercover area for entertaining. Atop one of the tallest
residential buildings in Belconnen, residents can gaze at Lake Ginninderra
lulling toward the north, meanwhile mountains that sit along the horizon
can be admired from sunrise to sunset.

BATHROOMS & ENSUITES

BATHROOMS & ENSUITES

“SIMPLE, elegant DESIGN IS CONSIDERED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE PENTHOUSE BATHROOMS AND ENSUITES TO CREATE A TRANQUIL modernity REMINISCENT OF A SPA RETREAT.”

Phillip Mathieson, Architect, Redgen Mathieson

A TIMELY RESPITE

Expansive bedrooms offer residents a timely respite from the demands of
contemporary life. Neutral colour purveys and ambient lighting fosters a sense
of warmth, as floor-to-ceiling windows concede each apartment to waterfront
views. Select bedrooms offer an extensive balcony, generous in proportion,
which converts into a private observatory behind the bustle of daily routine
—it animates both skylight and the nightlife.

INDULGENCES

Inspired by hotel and resort amenities, Cirrus houses a ground floor of fine restaurants and commercial spaces for public enjoyment, a shared pool and gym floor that connects the two towers, and on-site parking for residents. The precinct is designed to open up onto the popular Emu Bank and its surrounding boulevards — the entrance to a vibrant community.

Artist Impression, Pool

Residents in each tower will be greeted home with a grand entrance lobby and will have access to a communal garden with private seating for their leisure. The building’s ground floor will be devoted to restaurants and commercial spaces that integrate with a generously sized and serviced terrace area at the foot of Emu Bank.

AMENITIES

The podium’s top floor includes a 24-hour pool and gym facility exclusively for
residents to enjoy. The 20-metre long swimming pool, in particular, is a distinct
feat of contemporary design. At one end of the pool, swimmers can gaze out
an immense window through to Lake Ginninderra.
